Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA)

SCI — Partnering with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency

At SCI, we proudly partner with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) as a vendor to help students with disabilities access education, training, and career opportunities that lead to meaningful employment.

What Is GVRA?

GVRA is a state agency that helps individuals with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment. Services may include:

  • Career counseling and guidance

  • College or vocational school support

  • Tuition assistance (when approved)

  • Job training and placement services

  • Assistive technology and other employment supports

How the Process Works

To receive services, students must complete a referral to GVRA to determine eligibility.

  1. Submit a Referral – SCI Accept helps students complete and submit the referral.

  2. Eligibility Review – A GVRA counselor determines if the student qualifies based on documented disability and employment goals.

  3. Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) – If eligible, the student and counselor create a plan outlining the education or training needed to reach their career goal.

  4. Education & Training Support – Approved services may include support for tuition, books, certification programs, and other career-related expenses.
