Sherita Cherry

Sherita Cherry is an award-winning hairstylist, entrepreneur, and former salon owner with over 25 years of experience. Celebrated as one of Atlanta's top beauty professionals, she was recognized in Who's Who in Black Atlanta as one of the city’s Most Influential Entrepreneurs. Her dedication to excellence earned her the prestigious Phoenix Award from former Mayor Kasim Reed for her mentorship with teenage girls, as well as the Rising ICON Award at the Bronner Bros. Annual ICON Awards.

As a licensed Master Educator, Sherita spent over 20 years traveling the country as a National Color Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems, training licensed beauty professionals in hair coloring and cutting. Sherita received the Highest Achievement Award from Clairol Professional, where she served as a Brand Ambassador and judged hair color competitions nationwide. Known for her innovative skills and industry leadership, she has been a featured writer for several magazines and a standout at major events like the Bronner Brothers Hair Shows, earning multiple competition victories.

 

She also partnered with former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin in the Styling Healthier Futures campaign, sponsored by United Healthcare, to promote health awareness among African-American women.

Sherita is the bestselling author of BAGTALK PLANNER, a guide helping beauty professionals master money management, branding, and marketing, as well as I DID IT SCARED: Understanding Your Financial DNA. Her salon has been featured in both national and international hair magazines and was named one of the "Top 100 Hair Salons and Best Hair Color Salons in the South" by Black Hairstyles and Trends Magazine.

Driven by her passion for inspiring and mentoring future beauty professionals, Sherita founded the Sherita Cherry Institute on Atlanta's Southside.

A proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University with an MBA from Western Governors University, Sherita’s commitment to the beauty industry has earned her numerous awards both nationally and internationally. She was honored in her alma mater’s alumni magazine for her business acumen and philanthropic spirit and recognized by Bronner Brothers as "The Leader of the Beauty Industry for the New Generation." Despite her busy schedule, Sherita remains active in her community as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The Links, Incorporated, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women - MECCA Chapter, and the Professional Beauty Association.
